In the span of a month, Dustin Cook carved a place in Ottawa sports history. The 26-year-old is almost certainly the most decorated male alpine skier to come from the national capital region. Cook became the first Canadian man to medal in a super-G at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships when he came 2nd in Beaver Creek. He won eleven days later at the World Cup Finals in balmy Meribel, France, near the Swiss border and the 1992 Winter Olympic city of Albertville. It was the first and only World Cup win of his career.
